Ontario Hop Growers' Association The OHGA is a not-for-profit association of hop growers, families and enthusiasts who are interested in supporting the growth of the hop industry in Ontario.
The summit’s theme is “Rising to the Challenge: Growing Ontario’s Agri-Food Success,” and leaders from government and industry throughout Ontario will be in attendance.
In September, Premier Kathleen Wynne issued mandate letters to Ministers outlining priorities for the year 2014. One of the key priorities as Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is supporting the growth of the agri-food sector. This includes the Premier’s Agri-Food Challenge, which “calls on the province’s agri-food industry to double its growth rate and create 120,000 jobs by the year 2020.”
It will be an opportunity to discuss the actions both government and industry need to take to move forward and meet the Premier’s challenge. In addition, the summit will showcase the work of producers and food manufacturers through the presentation of thePremier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence.
