The US Hop Acreage Report (2013 harvested area and 2014 strung area) for Idaho, Oregon and Washington states was released on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in the USA. A graphical representation of the June 11 report has been put together by Dr. Charlie Rohwer from the University of Minnesota depicting the increase or decrease in hop acreage by cultivar for 2013 harvested and 2014 strung acreage in the three US states (Figure 1).

A supplemental report will be released shortly detailing the hop acreage in other US states with smaller production area. Efforts are underway to document hop acreage in other production regions of North America for future years in order to better understand the changing regional distribution of the crop and availability of various hop cultivars.
